Architecture of
the San Francisco Bay Area
A History & Guide

Mitchell Schwarzer

Covering both historical and contemporary architecture, this guide book is successor to “Architecture and Design: SF”, a small traveler’s companion. The first half of the book comprehensively surveys local architectural history, from California’s beginnings to the present day. The remainder of the book is divided into regional chapters which provide maps marked with architectural points of interest. Each of the mapped landmarks is accompanied by a summary of the project, notation of the architect and date of construction, and a precise address.
